Ethan's First Haircut!

The last month or so!

Happy New Year!! Hello 2010!

It's been kinda of a weird week as Ethan has been sick and we've just started our intensive schedule at school. This means that I teach extra classes in the morning on top of the regular schedule classes in the afternoon. So it's 9 am to 8:30 pm for 5 weeks. Not fun at all but it needs to be done.

Ethan got a cold which is pretty understandable as me and Jong-Man have both had colds for the past month of so. Suddenly, last Sunday Ethan was up at night crying and he had a bad runny nose. Somehow this mutated into the flu or something because he started throwing up halfway through the week. The nights have been brutal and we've taken him to the hospital to get him checked out but it seems to be nothing too serious. Unfortunately, the medicine that the hospital gave us seems to cause Ethan to throw up. Last night he tried taking the medicine in the evening and threw it up. Then when he woke up around 2 am and wouldn't stop crying we tried giving him the medicine again and he threw up. Anyway, today finally towards the evening he started picking up and he was actually playing for a bit so I hope that he's turned the corner. We have another 2 days off so I'm praying that Ethan will have recovered by tomorrow and we can enjoy some time together!

Christmas Clothes & Decorations

I forgot the cardinal rule of taking video - never turn the camera sideways. Sorry you have to strain your neck to watch this video! At first I couldn't get Ethan to sit still for a picture so I thought I'd take video but later on I got some good shots of him in his outfit. Anyway, here's Ethan and the decorations I managed to get put up this year!

Hide and go seek

This is Ethan's favorite activity these days! I'm sort of impressed that he's brave enought to go in the wardrobe and shut the door! He plays this game constantly and sometimes I can't find him anywhere and then the wardrobe door pops open and he looks out with this mischievous grin on his face!

Christmas Outfit

We got a huge Chirstmas package in the mail a few days ago from Canada and I couldn't resisit opening up the outfit my mom had bought for Ethan! So cute! I love sweater vests!

Ethan's hair gets super curly when it's a bit humid! I think I was running our humidifier all day because I have a cold and suddenly Ethan's hair was so funny!

October

I know I've been awful at keeping up with my blog. Sometimes the longer you leave something, the harder it is to get back into it. I guess I feel like I've probably lost all my readers so what's the point now!

Anyway, October is finished and November is almost half over. We're had a whirlwind of a time as our teacher just quit so we were scrambling, trying to keep her classes going and find a replacement. There's still a ton of work to do and I should really be at work today (Sunday, our dayoff) but I can't quite bring myself to go in. I'll probably go in tonight after Ethan is sleeping and try to get some work done.

Anyway, Ethan continues to do well! He's more fun everyday! His latest hobby is tickling my stomach and sticking his finger in my belly button! I start laughing and then he starts giggling! He's also started helping me hang up the laundry on our drying rack - he picks out socks from the pile of wet clothes and hands them to me! It's a nice change from his previous favorite activity of taking everything off the drying rack!

Yesterday we finished teaching at 10 PM we wanted to go out for a family dinner so we were at the restaurant after 10 and Ethan was running around like a crazy boy. He had a mandarin orange in each hand and he ended up tripping and falling and hitting his head on the side of one of the low tables. He was just howling and I had to leave the restaurant and run home with him screaming in my arms. Ugh. Sometimes you want to have some nice family time together and it's just not possible with the number of hours in the day. Anyway, I think a lot of the crying was from being overtired and he woke-up this morning happy and in good spirits so I guess there was no long-term damage!

My goal today was to try to put up some decorations to get a little into the Christmas spirit! So far I haven't accomplished much except for cleaning the house and doing laundry. Anyway, I think I'll pull out all the Christmas CDs and perhaps look for some Christmas decorations in the store!

Ethan's First Halloween Costume!

Last year Ethan was only a month old and I wasn't able to find him a costume so this year I wanted to make sure he had something! So I went to the department store and sprung for this cute monkey outfit! Although he doesn't look too impressed with it in this picture, he wore it happily for 2.5 hours today at the Halloween party we attended!
